Heartfelt Creations Wednesday 5-25-11

I have been dying to get my hands on the Pink Paislee Butterfly collection. Then...I get a package in the mail form Heartfelt Creations, and not only does it contain the new stamp collection, but it also has papers from the most beautiful paper collections!!! One was the Butterfly Garden Collection, and coordinating card stock in yummy colors!! cant wait to use the others! Thank You Emma Lou and Linda, your taste is exquisite!! I had fun putting this layout together. And thinking outside the box to use the stamps is what I did this week. I hope you enjoy the tutorial for the Posy Patch flowers below this post. And please go visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see what the Design Team has revealed for you this week!! You will be inspired.

I inked some small chip board letters for the title.
I scanned the patterned paper and cropped out the butterflies in Photoshop and created a file. Printed them up, stickled them and placed them on my layout.
I created the circle using my technique using Corner Punches.
Close up of flowers and leaves. The tutorial uses the Posy Patch Flower stamp. Tutorial is below.
I cut apart the new Bella Rose Leaves stamp. There are so many possibilities with just this one beautiful stamp!
Just another closeup.

Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch 3D flowers tutorial.

I have learned some ways to use your stamps to make them into 3 dimensional flowers. One rule at Heartfelt Creations is that we are not allowed to use purchased flowers (Sorry Prima). But that has encouraged me to find different ways to create with the stamps. You know how much I love flowers. After experimenting with my McGill Paper Blossom Tools and tutorials, I was insired to create these flowers using Heartfelt Creations Stamps. I kind of like the way they look!! And don't forget to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog this coming Wednesday to see the whole Layout that I created using these flowers. I hope you are inspired to experiment with your stamps. And these tools are awesome!! I am on a flower making journey! Once again!

Products Used:
Glimmer mist
Glue (quick dry)
Flower Stamps (Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch set)
Heartfelt Creation Posy patch Diecuts
large daisy punch
McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit
Paper Blossoms Craft Molding Mat

Ink
Small piece of craft Styrofoam

Stamp several flowers in 2 different sizes. Each stamped flower has 5 petals, but you will need 6 petals off of the flowers of each size to create 1 flower. Die cut or hand cut the stamped flowers.
Cut apart the flower as shown, preserving the middle of the flower as you will need this piece as well for the finished flower.

For each flower, you will need 6 large petals, 6 smaller petals, 3 of the middles that were cut out and 2 daisy flowers ( daisy flowers have 6 petals).
Using your stylus, start cupping each of your petals and middles on the wrong side of your stamped images. (rolling your stylus around in a circular motion until your pieces are cupped.)
Here is a closeup.
Using your tweezers (They are in the kit) clamp down on the individual petal as shown.

Using two fingers, pinch up the petals around the tweezers to shape them as shown.
Repeat this step for each of the petals until they are all done.

Place a dot of glue on each of the daisy flower petals.
Place a large petal on each of the daisy petals as shown overlapping the petals slightly.
You should end up with a flower layer that looks like this.
Repeat this step with the smaller petals. You should have 2 layers that look like this.
Pinch off a piece of Styrofoam and roll it into a small ball, a little smaller than the flower middles. You could use tissue paper if you do not have Styrofoam.

Take each cupped flower middle and glue them around the ball so that it resembles a closed bud.
Lay your smaller flower layer over the larger flower layer. At this point, you could scrunch up and shape the flower for more dimension.
Take your completed "bud" and glue it to the middle. When your flower is complete, you could mist it with a little glimmer Mist in Pearl to give it some sheen.

Swirlydoos ***Doing The Impossibble***

This is another layout done with the Fabulous Swirlydoos May kit Grandma's Garden. I was fooling around with my McGill punches to create the Peony Flower from a video that is on their website. I was inspired by Tammy's Flower that she did a tutorial on at Swirlydoos. Go see it as it is beautiful. I love my paper flower punches. I am working on the lily punch. The flowers are so sweet. If you get the main kit, you have got to get the add on card stock. I always use it for background and flowers and accent borders. It really is a must have to compliment your kit.

I love the Tattered Angels Framed Fonts Alpha Chipboard. A little Starburst Spray from Lindy's Stamp Gang goes a long way on chip board! I love it!! Krissy opens up special orders for subscribers. We love it!!! I altered the photo in Photoshop using Florabella textures and Totally Rad Actions. I mix them all of the time!!

I also used Heartfelt Creations new leafy stamp from the Bella Rose Collection. I love that it has a matching die to cut it out, So many beautiful swirls!!
The butterflies can be found at Swirlydoos. LOTS of them . This one happens to be one of my favorites! Download, print, cut out, embellish. A little Stickles are all they need.

***Heartfelt Creations Wednesday ***featuring Swirlydoos...

The new Bella Rose stamp sets and dies from Heartfelt Creations are so beautiful and so versatile. From cardmakers to scrap pages to altered art. They work so well . In this LO I have used some stamps from the new set and combined older stamps and they blend so well. I didnt have to place a title on the LO, as the gorgeous backround stamp had the words right in it. Perfect as I am sooo bad with placing titles on my layouts. Once again I am using my current Swirlydoos kit to complete this layout. Grandma's Garden. The picture is my sisters granddaughter Nikki sitting on a park bench . I added the sweet butterfly wings in Photoshop. My sweet little redhead.
I have to confess, the design of this layout is the Design of my Swirlydoos Design Team Sister Camilla Eckman. She did a wonderful tutorial on layering and clustering. I couldn't wait to do it for this LO. Thank you Camilla for the inspiration!! I hope I did you justice!!

Here is a closeup of the beautiful stamp that looks like an adorned book page. I stamped it on yellow cardstock that came in our Swirlydoos card stock add on kit, then proceeded to color the leaves and flowers using Glimmer Mist and a small brush. I took advantage of the words You Are So Beautiful in the stamp, and used it for my title.

This is just a closeup of the flowers that I created using the stamp and the die that was made for it. Spellbinders creates gorgeous dies for Heartfelt Creations to die cut the gorgeous stamps. It saves so much time with fussy cutting each layer f or the flowers, as well as the beautiful flourishes attached to the leafy vines.

And here is a close up of the flower cluster and the beautiful new leafy vine from the Bella Rose set, I know I will be using this one a lot!! I love it!! I created the centers using my McGill Star punch. I punched about 4 of them for each middle as I demonstrated in my Purple Passion Flower tutorial. I did tuck in a few Swirlydoos rosebuds into my flower cluster. I just thought they were so peachy sweet.

I used my Swirlydoos May kit, Grandma's Garden to create this layout. I absolutely adore the Glitz line Laced with Grace. The warm colors are yummy! Head on over to the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see the gorgeous work that the Design Team has done this week!! They are incredible!!

Swirlydoos ***Grandma's Garden*** Reveal for May

The Swirlydoos May collection, Grandma’s Garden is a beautiful collection so named for its subtle colors, softness, grace, and elegance. A perfect blending of paper and embellishments hand chosen to honor the Grandmothers, Mothers, and precious daughters (and sons) who’ve touched our lives, and made us all who we are today. Swirlydoos invites you to take time this month to create a project in honor of these special people in your lives. Creativity abounds in this jewel tone collection, and we’re excited to see how you transform this collection into your own beautiful piece of art! We have also assembled a fine collection of add-on kits that compliment our main kit beautifully. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the inspirational collection that we have thoughtfully prepared for you this month.

And I hope that you enjoy the LO's that I have prepared with this gorgeous kit.
The first LO is of my husband and my wedding rings sitting on top of a page in the bible In Genesis, where God created Eve for Adam so that he wouldn't be alone. . The journaling is from one of my favorite book...The Notebook. There are so many memorable quotes in the book. This is just one.

The book plate is part of the new Alterations die "Tag and Bookplates". I love it. I added the eyelets with my cropadile.
The flowers are the Swirly Hibiscus Flowers. I have a photo tutorial as well as a Ustream Video on creating them. The middle of the big one is a Petaloo Flower from the kit.
The tag was die cut from the flower package backing. Alterations Tag and Bookplate is a wonderful new die from Sizzix. Tim Holtz created it. Gotta go green!! I created the strips of words in Microsoft Word, then cut and inked them up before assembling them on the tag.
I stamped the lace stamp around the page, and die cut another fab Alterations die, topped it with a heart and flower.

This LO is my daughter Gabbie who believes in fairytales and happy endings. And also believes you can do anything your heart desires. And beat any obstacles that get in your way. She is living proof that you can achieve all. She is living her dream.

And here is my LO for the challenge. Laced with Grace is one of my favorite lines from Glitz!!

The butterflies can be found at Swirlydoos. I create files for each kit to download and print out then decorate as you wish. Just a touch of Stickles on this one.
I punched and wove some ribbon through the Petaloo frame. I colored it with Glimmer Mist first. The title comes from the tiny letter stickers in the kit.
I punched the tiny flowers to place along the leaf vine. Love the Martha Stewart Garden Gate punch. I wish it had a corner punch to go with it. The smaller edge punch is from Fiskars.

A great Scrap booking friend BarbG, sent me a wonderful Alterations die!! I LOVE it!! It has 2 different shapes on it from the movers and shakers line!! Thanks Barb!! I have the best scrap friends. They are so generous!! Barb also sent me more Timmy goodies in the package she mailed to me, so as a Thank You, I die cut a bunch of chipboard using a lot of my Timmy dies and mailed them to her today. !! Including the one she sent me!! I journaled on a smaller piece of paper, matted it, cut it out and placed it on the die cut label.
The next LO is of my son reading. He is currently writing a science fiction book. A few years in the making, but he is determined to write this novel. It is pretty interesting. Anyway, he loves to read.

Just a cluster of flowers. I punched the smaller ones, and you can see the cute bee that is part of the butterfly file I created for the kit. Visit Swirlydoos to download.
This is the other die cut shape in the die that Barb sent me. I put some eyelets in it to give it a more manly feel. Like rivets.
I was never a fan of banners, but I find I am liking them more. I altered the Dusty Attic Clock frame(not in the kit) with the smooch paint in the add on embellishment kit. It is amazing how Krissy creates the add ons to compliment the main kit. They are always packed with the best embellies! I also did a little sewing around the page.
The other 2 layouts I dd with the kit can be seen in the next couple of posts. Still working on a few more. Thanks for looking and always sharing the love!!
